The luncheon will also provide an opportunity to connect and network with fellow Chamber members\, local business leaders\, and community partners. \nMeet Our Guest Speakers\nDr. Georgette Perez\nPresident\, Miami Dade College Hialeah Campus \nA proud Miami Dade College alumna\, Dr. Georgette Perez has dedicated more than two decades to serving MDC and advancing student success. Throughout her career\, she has held leadership roles in Continuing Education\, Testing\, the New Student Center\, Student Achievement\, and Student Services\, including nine years as Dean of Students at MDC’s North Campus. \nDr. Perez earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Florida Atlantic University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in Student Personnel Administration from the University of Florida. A passionate advocate for underserved students\, she has served on numerous educational and community boards and was selected as a 2021 National Community College Hispanic Council Fellow through its prestigious Leadership Development Program. \nMarcela Munera\nCampus President\, Southeastern College Miami Lakes \nMarcela Munera brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in higher education to her role as Campus President of Southeastern College Miami Lakes. Throughout her career\, she has focused on building strong educational environments where students are encouraged to succeed academically\, professionally\, and personally\, with a leadership philosophy centered on community\, excellence\, and perseverance. \nPrior to joining Southeastern College\, Marcela held senior administrative positions at several institutions of higher education\, including Ana G. Méndez University\, International Education Corporation\, City College Miami\, and Florida Technical College. She has also developed partnerships with organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters\, Miami-Dade County Public Schools\, Women of Tomorrow\, and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Her commitment to educational leadership has earned her multiple professional recognitions\, including four consecutive President’s Awards. \n\n\n\n\n\n

Tom Fabricio! \nMeet our Guest Speakers: \n\n\nRepresentative Tom Fabricio \nTom Fabricio is a member of the Florida Legislature and is the State Representative for House District 110\, which includes unincorporated North Western portions of Miami-Dade County\, Town of Miami Lakes and a portion of Hialeah. He currently serves as the Chairman of Joint Committee on Collective Bargaining and Vice Chair of Ways and Means Committees\, as well as on Judiciary Committee\, Rules and Ethics Committee\, Criminal Justice Subcommittee\, Natural Resources & Disasters Subcommittee\, Information Technology Budget & Policy Subcommittee and Transportation & Economic Development Budget Subcommittee. \n\nMr. Fabricio previously served the State of Florida in the Florida State Guard\, where he held the rank of Captain. Additionally\, he served as the Commander’s Legal Advisor\, for the Critical Response Battalion. \n\n\n\nHe previously served on the Broward County Charter Review Commission as well as on several county and municipal advisory boards. \n\n\nTom is the managing partner of The Fabricio Law Firm where he focuses his practice on commercial litigation\, real estate litigation and real estate transactions. \n\n\nTom is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. In 2008\, Tom received his juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University\, and in 2005\, he earned his bachelor of arts in Political Science and English Literature\, cum laude\, from Marymount Manhattan College. \n\n\nTom is happily married to attorney Laura Fabricio and together they have two daughters\, Veronica and Alexandra.\n\n\n\n\nSenator Bryan Avila \nBryan Avila is an America-First Conservative Republican who currently serves in the Florida Senate\, representing the 39th District. He is also a Captain in the Florida Army National Guard\, where he has served for nine years. Avila previously served in the Florida House of Representatives\, representing the 111th District—which includes parts of Miami and Hialeah—from 2014 to 2022. In recognition of his conservative record\, the American Conservative Union named him the Most Conservative Member of the Legislature in 2024.\n\n\n\n​Renowned as a conservative stalwart\, Avila has championed fiscally responsible and pro-family policies\, safeguarding taxpayer interests\, prioritizing government efficiency\, and defending the social fabric of Florida families. \n​Born in Hialeah\, Avila graduated from Miami Springs High School and earned degrees from Miami Dade College\, the University of Miami\, and Florida International University. He is married to his high school sweetheart\, Cindy Gil-Avila\, and they have two children\, Olivia and Brandon.
